Select Board - is nonpartisan so the candidates political party should not be considered. Must be a legal voter The law only requires that a member be a legally qualified voter of the town. Experience nice, but not required. You're eligible to run whether you have community support or not.
School Board - is nonpartisan so the candidates political party should not be considered. Must be a legal voter and cannot be employed by the supervisory union. Cannot hold simultaneous positions in collector of taxes, town treasurer, town agent or town manager. Cannot be married to the town auditor. You're eligible to run whether you have support or not.
Who is legal to vote - a U.S. citizen that is at least 18 years old by Election Day, a resident of Vermont, Live in the precinct in which you want to vote, and take, or have previously taken, the Voter's Oath.
Emerge Vermont - Is not Lonnie Poland's training program, she's an alumni of Emerge VT,  a group that was built to empower women to run for office. We did not attend at the same time.
ActBlue - a non-profit. Yes, this is a democratic donations website that I use. Not because I am a democrat but because they help by handling the donations and making sure any funds received are managed properly. Most, if not all campaigns use a similar model, receive donations, and do not pay out of pocket for their expenses. Yes, a small portion of the funds raised support me and the Emerge VT program while I attend.
